Arrival in Islamabad & Journey to Besham/Naran
Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, you will be met by our representative. We will then begin our scenic drive towards Besham or Naran (depending on the season and road conditions – Babusar Pass is open from June to October). This initial leg of the journey takes us through beautiful landscapes, offering glimpses of rural Pakistani life. We will stop for necessary breaks and photography along the way. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Besham or Naran.
Karakoram Highway & Chilas/Gilgit Arrival
After breakfast, we resume our journey on the legendary Karakoram Highway (KKH), one of the highest paved international roads in the world. Enjoy the dramatic scenery as we drive alongside the mighty Indus River. We will make stops at various scenic points and for lunch. Our destination for the day will be Chilas (if Babusar Pass is closed) or continue towards Gilgit, the capital of Gilgit-Baltistan. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Gilgit to Hunza Valley & Altit Fort Exploration
Following breakfast, we will depart for the spectacular Hunza Valley. The drive offers increasingly breathtaking views of Rakaposhi and other towering peaks. Upon arrival in Hunza (Karimabad), we will check into our hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit the historic Altit Fort, the oldest monument in Gilgit-Baltistan, offering insights into the region's royal past and panoramic views of the valley. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in Hunza.
Baltit Fort, Karimabad Bazaar & Eagle's Nest Sunset
Today, after breakfast, we explore the iconic Baltit Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Tentative site and a symbol of Hunza's rich history. Afterwards, stroll through the vibrant Karimabad Bazaar, where you can shop for local handicrafts, precious stones, and traditional garments. In the late afternoon, we'll drive to Eagle's Nest (Duikar), one of the highest points in Hunza, to witness a magnificent sunset over the surrounding peaks, including Rakaposhi and Ladyfinger. Dinner and overnight stay in Hunza.
Attabad Lake, Passu Cones & Khunjerab Pass (Optional)
After breakfast, we embark on an excursion further north on the KKH. Our first stop is the mesmerizing Attabad Lake, famous for its surreal turquoise waters. You can enjoy boating (optional) on the lake. We then continue to the striking Passu Cones (Cathedral Peaks), a dramatic natural landmark. For those interested and if time permits, an optional full-day trip to Khunjerab Pass, the highest paved international border crossing in the world (weather permitting, usually May-October), can be arranged. Return to Hunza for dinner and overnight stay.
Ghulkin Glacier, Hussaini Bridge & Cultural Immersion
Today's exploration includes a visit to the Ghulkin Glacier, offering a close-up view of a massive ice flow. Afterwards, we'll experience the thrilling Hussaini Bridge, a suspension bridge known for its unique design and breathtaking surroundings. We'll also take time to visit a local village to interact with the warm-hearted people of Hunza, learning about their culture, traditions, and simple way of life. Dinner and overnight stay in Hunza.
Return Journey to Besham/Naran
After breakfast, we begin our journey back from Hunza Valley. We will retrace our steps along the Karakoram Highway, admiring the landscapes once more. We'll make strategic stops for refreshments and photos. Our destination for the night will be Besham or Naran, where we will have dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for our final leg back to Islamabad.
Drive to Islamabad & Departure
Following breakfast, we will complete our drive back to Islamabad. Upon arrival in Islamabad, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping or relaxation. Our team will then transfer you to Islamabad International Airport for your onward flight, concluding your memorable "8-Day Hunza Valley Tour."
